W is for Wolf
Exploration of the human impact on species, specifically the threats on wolves. There are 3 species and 40 subspecies of wolf that we have found. The one I want to highlight is the Red Wolf, which is found only on the coast of North Carolina. This particular type is critically endangered due to human action: pest control and vehicle accidents along with habitat degradation. There are less than 40 individuals left.
We can save it from extinction by:
✋being aware of what chemicals and retaliatory efforts you use when trying to ward off coyotes. Red wolves have similar habitat as them so stopping the killing altogether will help save their species
💸supporting US Fish & Wildlife that focus on banning harmful actions of endangered animals. They put together a recovery program and ensure protection for the world's most endangered wolf.
📢 telling your friends and family about our furry neighbors who are losing their packs to our actions. Not everyone knows that these wolves are on a verrrrry short timeline.
