Exploration of the human impact on species, specifically the threats on quokkas. Their docile and harmless nature has sadly been the downfall of their species when living amongst humans. They can catch human disease easily as they search for food in cities. As we develop land for our use, they lack places to hide from predators while also suffering from climate change and wild fires.

 

It is totally possible to change their vulnerability status by:

🔥💨 of course, avoiding activities that cause wild fires in dry climate, like burning debris in campfires and off roading on dry grass. 9/10 wildfires start from human action.

🪵 helping efforts to protect their habitat from logging in Western Australia. Donate to the Rottnest Foundation which helps conserve healthy habitats and monitor quokka populations.

👀 looking and not touching in order to save them from catching disease/virus from human contact
