FIERCE

Through this scratchboard project, I realized the simplicity of a singular tool yet it has so much complexity. Every line comes from the same pen used to scratch away the surface of the scratchboard but the collection and groupings of lines creates a vague tuft of fur. Those vague tufts of fur collectively create a lion. The fierceness of the subject and the contrast of using just white lines on black inspired me to name this piece "Fierce".
